Our staff is responsible for the upkeep, services, upgradation, repairs & maintenance of our building and apartments. Some of the major initiatives and activities undertaken by them in the last three months (April -June 2026) were:
1. Infrastructure:
Façade Safety Maintenance
As part of its ongoing commitment to building safety and preventive maintenance, we did façade plaster removal in selected areas of the premises. The work involved the careful removal of loose and damaged external plaster to eliminate potential safety hazards and prepare the affected areas for future repair and restoration.
Damaged and loose façade plaster was identified on the building exterior, posing a potential safety risk. The affected areas have been repaired and restored to ensure the façade is safe, secure, and well-maintained. The repair improves resident safety, enhances the building’s appearance, and helps prevent further deterioration.

Futsal court repairs
The futsal court surface joints have been successfully repaired to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable playing experience for all residents. The damaged sections of the artificial turf were restored, and the surface was securely fixed, eliminating uneven joints and improving overall playing conditions.

2. Activities:
Fire Mock Drill
A comprehensive Fire Mock Drill was conducted for residents and staff to strengthen emergency preparedness and ensure everyone is equipped to respond confidently during a fire emergency.
The session included demonstrations on emergency evacuation procedures, the correct use of fire extinguishers, and assembly point protocols. Practical exercises highlighted the importance of quick response, coordination, and following established safety procedures.
The drill also showcased the society’s emergency response systems, preparedness measures, and the coordinated efforts of the facility and security teams to ensure smooth emergency handling and resident support.

SIR Election office camps:
To support residents with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, Ashok Gardens hosted an on-site SIR Verification Camp in collaboration with the election authorities. The camp enabled residents to conveniently complete the voter verification and mapping process within the society premises, including verification against the 2002 electoral rolls and registration support for newly eligible voters.
The initiative was well received by residents, offering a simple and efficient way to complete the required formalities while reducing the need to visit external government offices.
3. Gardening
Produce distribution by Gardening staff
The Garden Committee delighted residents by distributing fresh fruits, medicinal herbs, saplings, and organic manure grown within the Ashok Gardens premises. The initiative showcased the success of the society’s green initiatives while encouraging sustainable living, home gardening, and greater appreciation for the rich biodiversity nurtured within our community.
Fresh fruits and vegetables harvested from the society’s garden were distributed to residents as part of our Garden Produce Initiative.
This initiative encourages community participation, promotes the effective use of our green spaces, and supports sustainable living within Ashok Gardens.

4. Maintenance
STP Raw Tank – Cover Fabrication Work
The STP raw water tank was provided with a fabricated MS chequered plate cover to safely enclose the open tank area. The new cover protects the tank from external contamination and provides safe access for maintenance activities.

Parking Area – GI Tray Replacement at Expansion Joint:
As part of our monsoon preparedness initiative, the maintenance team proactively inspected the GI trays installed at expansion joints and identified sections that had corroded over time.
Since rusted GI trays can lead to water seepage and leakages into the parking areas during heavy rains, the damaged trays were promptly replaced with new ones before the onset of the monsoon.

5. Upgrades:
SIM-Based Walkie-Talkie System Upgrade:
To strengthen communication and emergency response capabilities, the society has upgraded its frequency-based walkie-talkie system to a SIM-based communication system that operates over the mobile network and Wi-Fi.
The previous radio-frequency system had limitations in communication range and was occasionally affected by signal interference. The new SIM-based walkie-talkies provide clearer, more reliable communication, enabling seamless coordination among the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and facility staff across the premises.

RT Point – Security Cabin Revamping
The security cabin near to the A wing Ramp was refurbished to improve its appearance and functionality. The cabin was repaired, repainted, and upgraded to provide a clean, safe, and presentable working environment for security personnel.

Surveillance System – Wireless Camera Installation
Several lift cameras had become non-functional due to recurring cable faults. Replacing the wiring was neither practical nor a long-term solution, as it involved significant civil work and offered limited durability. To address this, the maintenance team implemented a wireless surveillance system, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring with minimal disruption.
