We are delighted to bring you the latest updates from the Managing Committee for the period July 11th to September 30th, 2025. This is our endeavour to share the key Managing Committee areas of work, improve updates, communication & transparency. The new Managing Committee was elected on July 6th and was immediately constituted with elections of office bearers and its very first meeting on July 11th . The new MC swung into action with many new initiative on an immediate basis. We signed a new code of conducted, agreed on the key principles and identified focus areas.

1. Key focus areas

The Managing Committee identified various key focus areas of its working with a clear focus on improving the lives of our residents and making Ashok Gardens the best place to live in

2. Launch of AG Connect

An official WhatsApp group was launched to communicate the updates from MC, Facilities and Society in a very fast and effective way.

3. Open House Event: Ear to the Ground held in August

Ear to the Ground – an open house forum was organised to hear the residents’ issues and suggestions. It was a Forum for an informal interaction to share common issues that might concern us all as a community and to offer suggestions on how things can be improved. The event was open to both Resident-Owners and Tenants at Ashok Gardens.

4. Financial Focus & Prudence

Financials approvals: The financials for the last year FY 24-25 financials were approved after various deliberations

Auditors: GST, Internal & Statutory Auditors reappointed

Budgeting: Budget for the year FY 25-26 brainstormed & approved

CAM Bill redesigning: We redesigned & simplified the residents’ CAM bill after studying various bills of other comparable societies, seeking the consultant advise, discussions & finally approval of CAM bill redesigning done

Changes in GST: Updated changes in GST as required in the CAM bill were done to meet up with required compliances.

Investments in Mutual funds: Society corpus MF Investments was suggested by Investments Recommendation team and finally approved in AGM

Cost savings: Various avenues to save money and increase revenue were discussed

Procurement process enhancement: We endeavour to increase cost savings and source through better channels going ahead. An example being, Walkey Talky rentals were discussed and evaluated for cost benefit analysis. It was decided to evaluate new vendors for buying rather than renting. We called for resident references and got many references too. We discussed ARC for garbage bags & costs were reduced after various rounds of negotiations.

Netbanking initiated: For better vendor payments & online banking was initiated with ICICI Bank.


5. Teams Formation with Resident Volunteers

AG has won many accolades in the Gardens and Waste Management category of awards instituted by the BMC. We also have trophies displayed for our Annual Sports Tournaments and the teams who have won those prestigious awards. We have now installed Awards Display Cabinets for displaying those awards and accolades.

6. Community Service

A Community Fridge meant for providing food to our AG staff as well as our household staff was launched in the month of September. It is meant for our support staff both personal & AG staff located at the P0 level opposite Rakhangi Stores.

The objectives of this initiative are as follows:

– Foster a “culture of giving”, within our community. 

– Provide residents an opportunity to share food—prepared dishes, fresh produce, beverages & packed items 

– ⁠Help our support staff, who work tirelessly, day after day to keep our community running smoothly. 

– ⁠Reduce food wastage and promoting responsible consumption.
