The first quarter of the calendar year is usually a busy season for Sports tournaments. The highlights of the quarter were the sports tournaments like AGAML, AGPL, AGVT & AGBL besides the Republic Day and Holi festival celebrations.
1. Opening of Pickleball court
Given the huge popularity of Pickleball globally, we at AG also started the proper size Pickleball court at the Basketball court making it a dual-purpose sport facility. The sport is gaining huge popularity globally and in India too. We also got a great initial response of players after the facility has been opened.
2. AGAML 2025: AG Athletics & Marathon League
The AGAML event created history in AG with participation of more than 400 participants in the 2-day event which had events spanning across:
Marathon – Long distance runs (5km/10km) & Walkathon
Athletics – Children & Adults
Fitness events – Planks, Push-ups, Tug-of-war, Skipping etc
Toddler events – Fun races & events
Fun events – Dog & Bone, Lemon & spoon etc
The Walkathon event of Senior Citizens had a theme – States of India where participants not only did a Walk but displayed their state’s culture, dresses, singing and dancing.
3. AGPL 2025: AG Premier League – Cricket
The flagship event of Ashok Gardens – AGPL Cricket was attended by 230 + participants across all age groups and gender. The four-day event had Men, Women, Kids above 10, 6-10 and Senior citizens age groups participating in the event. For the first time, a Toddler cricket activity was added in that. Extensive food stalls and corporate sponsorships were the other highlights of the event. AGPL Cricket brings a lot of families together and creates a festival kind of environment for those days
4. AGVT 2025: AG Volleyball & Throwball League
The Volleyball and Throwball league event was planned as an overall Team event with one team comprising of Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Throwball and mixed-volleyball team including children. More than 80 people participated across the three-day event.
5. AGBL 2025: AG Badminton League
The third edition of Badminton league met with a great response with more than 170 people participating. The format of team selection was changed to a player auction this time. The tournament had intense competition in the various categories including the main and championship league.
6. Republic Day celebrations
The Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic and enthusiastic fervour this year too. Besides the flag hoisting, security parade, we had Group singing performance wherein patriotic songs in regional languages were presented by AG residents.
7. Holi Celebrations
The fun festival of Holi was celebrated by AGiities in a big way.
Holika Dahan and Rasiya performance was well received.
Rain dance, breakfast and lunch were the key highlights of the festival.
Phoolon ki Holi i.e. Holi with flowers which was started last year is becoming a popular hit now.
