The MC team is involved in running the Society’s day-to-day affairs and planning new initiatives & projects as and when required. Some of the key initiatives taken by the Management Committee the last quarter (July-September 2024) were:
1. Lobby reopening – F, A, E, D wings
The society has completed the revamping of the 3 reception lobbies (AB, DE and EF) and all 6 lift lobbies of the A, B, C, D, E, and F wings. The design features the latest travertine marble for a sophisticated and timeless look, complemented by well-illuminated lighting to enhance the ambiance. The colour scheme has been carefully selected to create an inviting and modern atmosphere. The remaining work on furniture, artefacts, and plants will be completed soon.
2. Maharashtra Elections – Voting Centre at AG
For the first time ever, Ashok Gardens hosted as a polling booth for AG residents during the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections. Having a voting centre right at the doorstep was a blessing for the voters of Ashok Gardens who participated in the process in very large numbers and very enthusiastically. We were overwhelmed by the excellent voting percentage at our centre.
3.Opening of Rakhangi Store
We were able to bring a very reputed Store brand Rakhangi stores in our building who opened their department store that houses Fruits, Vegetables, and grocery items. The store is open seven days a week and 14 hours a day and does doorstep delivery in a very quick time.
4. Firefighting by AG staff
Our AG staff, including the security teams, housekeeping, plumbing, and electricians, all swung into action to prevent fire, which started in the adjacent industrial estate. While the fire brigade team took some time to arrive at the site, our security staff took charge to control the fire. We feel proud of our team’s achievement in the role played by them in the fire control. The fire brigade department, along with the local politician and BMC officials, also lauded our efforts, prompt action, and support during this incident.
5. Facility Office upgradation
We have upgraded our Facility Office to create a more professional and well-managed environment for our support staff & their teams and our Facility office reception.
6. New Signage at our entry gates
New illuminated signage displaying the ‘Ashok Gardens’ name has been installed at both the main and back gates to enhance the visibility and overall appearance of the society right at the entrance.
Initiatives planned for this quarter:
Jan-March 2025
- Completion of the Lobby Enhancement Project: The Lift lobby project will be completed in the coming weeks’ time with all lobbies including reception and lift lobbies getting a new look
- Sports Season: The Sports season will kick off at AG with onset of winters including AGAML – Marathon & Athletics, AGPL- Cricket, AGVT – Volleyball & Throwball and AGBL – Badminton events
