A. SPORTING ACTION

1. Sports Calendar for 2023-24

The MC formalized a Sports Calendar for the year involving eight events across all sports, age categories and genders. Sports creates a strong bonhomie in AG, and this has been evident for many years now. To add to the excitement, three new events – Tennis, Marathon and Basketball – are being introduced this year.

2. AGTL 2023

The first Sports event for the new season was kicked off in November with the start of the first ever Ashok Gardens Tennis League (AGTL 2023).

50 participants across adults and kids categories played the four-day league. It was a team event with a doubles playing format in the adults category. There was a separate kids league format.

3. AGAML 2023

The first of its kind, Ashok Gardens Athletics & Marathon League (AGAML 2023) was launched in December 2023.

255 participants were part of the one-day event which turned AG into 255 participants took part in the one-day event which turned AG into a sporting arena for a day! The “Under 5 years” category played fun games. Kids between 3 and 15 years participated in an athletics team event spanning individual & relay races. For those 15 years and above, a 5 km marathon run and for 18+ years, a 10 km run was organised. People above 50 years participated in a 3 km Walkathon, carrying innovative messages related to AG brotherhood and “Save the Planet”. The evening culminated with an exciting Tug-of-War event, followed by the Awards Ceremony.

4. World cup screenings at Banquet & Acropolis

The popular Cricket World Cup in India was extensively screened at AG. The Banquet Hall and Central lawn was used for the main matches, and Acropolis for other matches.


B. FESTIVALS & CELEBRATIONS

1. Navratri Event

A musical Garba cum Dandiya event with a live Orchestra performance was held. AGites participated enthusiastically, as always!

2. Diwali Festival

Diwali lighting was done in the lawns and Clubhouse. A unique Musical Housie event was held, was very well received by residents. Food stalls satisfied all taste buds!

3. Christmas Carnival

The annual Christmas carnival involved games for kids, carol singing, food & product stalls and music.

4. Food Stalls on Weekends:

Food stalls were organised on weekends on pay as you eat basis to satisfy the taste buds of AGiites.
